The name of the 26-year-old painter of Greek origin, Nikolas Kontaxis, appears on Forbes’ “30 Under 30” list.
Specifically, the young artist ranks 13th on the list of 30. Forbes describes him as follows: “Born neurodivergent and with a brain tumor that has caused thousands of epileptic seizures, Kontaxis communicates largely through painting.”
“His large-scale abstract works have led to sold-out exhibitions from Los Angeles to London and are in the collections of Adele, Roger Federer, and Adidas,” the publication notes.
Kontaxis is known for his large-scale abstract paintings characterized by a multitude of primary colors.
His works have been featured in a series of successful solo exhibitions in Los Angeles, London, Atlanta, Chicago, Sun Valley, and Palm Springs. His most recent solo exhibition titled “Catch Me” debuted at the UTA Artist Space in June 2022.
“The exceptional use of color and the massive scale of Nikolas’s paintings captivate me […] I’m grateful to have had the opportunity to work with him,” stated Arthur Lewis, Creative Director of UTA Fine Arts/Artist Space.
